Jeezus! is a new play by Sergio exploring the story of a young catholic boy growing up queer in Catholic Latin America and realising he’s balls deep in love with Jesus Christ.

An attempt to exorcise the demons of shame and to decolonize our bodies from the myths that have been handed down to us.

Part play, part fest-musical cabaret, Jeezus! melds together absurd comedy, church music, spoken word, physical theatre and Andean magical relaism. The Play has had their first Work In Progress showing thanks to the support of Camden’s People Theatre, Southwark Council, Theatre Peckham, The Rosemary Branch and Summerhall Galleries. A full version of the show is currently in development after WIP performances where we were able to get constructive and valuable audience feedback.

The trials and tribulations of being both catholic and queer. Guilt guilt guilt. Laughs laughs laugh. Cries cries cries.
A juxtaposition of the sacred with profane.
The best concept for a show I’ve heard all year
Hillarious! Such a vivid story with amazing imagery. It was Jubilant!
